Do you accept large furniture and mattresses?

We are typically only able to accept small pieces of furniture that are small and light enough for one driver to easily handle and load onto the truck. Special accommodations can sometimes be made, please forward your address with a zip code and telephone number to info@amvetspickuporlando.org and we will check policies for your area. We are not able to accept mattresses because we do not have the facilities to sterilize for resale. Our main need is for clothing and small household items.

Do you accept exercise equipment?

We can accept exercise equipment as long as it is small and light enough for one driver to easily handle and load onto the truck. Can I get a smaller pickup window of time than between 8am-5pm?

We are only able to offer an all day window for pickup service due to the nature of collecting donations. It is very hard to judge how long each individual pickup will take as the quantity in each donation varies a great deal. We also never know when a truck will have to go back to headquarters to unload if full during appointed rounds.

What items do you accept?

We are in need of clothing and small household items. Please go to Acceptable Donations to see a list.

The driver forgot to leave my tax receipt, how do I get one?

Please go to Donor Services  and request that we mail one to you. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery via U.S. Mail

Why do you not offer pickup service in my zip code?

We are only able to offer donation pickup service in some zip codes. Due to the cost of fuel and other collection costs, we are only in the zip codes close to local thrift stores that re-sell donations.

My pickup was missed what should I do?

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please send an email to info@amvetspickuporlando.org and let us know what happened we will see that you are rescheduled and that the local dispatch is made aware of the deficiency.
